A group of committed community residents from all walks of life have come together to make KIBH-FM 91.7, Seward, Alaska’s only local radio, a successful community radio station.
Serving Seward, Moose Pass, Cooper Landing, and Hope, Seward Public Radio provides the only locally produced programming to the residents and listeners. Our local programming is content that you will not hear anywhere else on your radio dial. We currently broadcast City of Seward meetings, Kenai Peninsula Borough meetings, local school sporting events, regional weather, and community news.
SAKTown Talk and Market Minute are two great examples of local volunteers creating popular local programing that highlights our ability to provide access to discuss local issues. We will continue to connect people and organizations in the KIBH listening area through access to the public airwaves, providing local and national content 24/7.
Our community Emergency Alert System provides disaster alert notifications, and live emergency updates for the Eastern Kenai Peninsula.
We will continue to build this non-profit community radio station by seeking grants and memberships as well as underwriting, and endowments. This year it will be necessary to raise $20,000 dollars for tower work and equipment upgrades, as well as our general operational costs.
